God Never Says No

God always answers prayers. Be prepared to accept and act on his unique plan for you. Listen when you pray for the Holy Spirit to inspire, direct, and lead you.

He didn’t meet all of the graduation requirements to receive his High School Diploma. He has an very good GPA (3.1/4.0) and more than sufficient credit units with passing grades to meet the state and district graduation requirements. He passed 3 out of the 4 state administered end of instruction tests. However, he failed the Algebra exam.

I have been in prayer for God to give this young man the courage and confidence to face the consequences no matter what the result. I spoke to him and encouraged him to be prepared to take a remedial class, retest, or whatever the graduation requirements from the school district might impose. We talked about God’s plan for him and prayed for His will be done.

¹⁶ Rejoice always, ¹⁷ pray without ceasing, ¹⁸ give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. — 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

It has been a trying period for him. He wants to join the US Navy so this was an important requirement for him to accomplishment. The final determination, for my nephew and probably several hundred high school graduating seniors, in terms of his alternatives, were being settled by a emergency state house bill. This bill would change the graduation requirements to meet the federal standards. As a result, he was in academic limbo until a couple days ago when the Governor signed the bill into law. Today we learned the guidance that the state education department had delivered to the school districts.

Given his completed coursework and passing grades he became eligible to receive his diploma. He picked up his diploma today and is now a happy young man motivated to better his life through more education. He is studying and preparing to retake the ASVAB assessment to improve his scores so that he can qualify to join the US Navy in the career field he is interested.hank God for hearing our prayers. I know from personal experience that God always answers our prayers and that he never says no. We can always count on God to say:

  • Yes
  • Yes, but later
  • I have a better plan for you.
