Seek & Ye Shall Find

Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.

I think for myself—Glory be to God! I am a Christian † husband and father. I walk next to Jesus. I usually end up walking to the left, and slightly abreast of Him, always trying to keep up. I know God answers prayers. We’ve raised children who won’t demand government handouts. Our children are some of the greatest blessings in my life. I look forward, God willing, to the next generation of our family to spring forth.

I am a veteran and patriot. I am a Will Rogers fan enjoying his political satire. His quick witted humor and outspokenness harkens back to another era when the average man on the street would tip their hat bid you a good day. A time when men could assess the condition of the political leaders and his government; then exercise his free speech through public commentary without worry or fear of whether or not you would be placed on someone’s revenge list. Today when a journalist writes the wrong paragraph or asks the wrong question at a press conference, they’re mysteriously black-listed or have their press credentials confiscated. That’s not the world I want to live in.

I have a number of journals and blog posts that I’m selectively and gradually making public for the first time, sometimes a blog or a post at a time. I’m cautious about publicly revealing too many personal details. I know personal identities and private data can be easily compromised. Outside of God and country, my family and their safety is my number one priority. God bless them and keep them from harm.

I blog as (@fredbookmann) with the  twitter team at It’s a friendly place where you’ll find faith-based fellowship and meet other like-minded bloggers who share a conservative point of view.
